For Bavarian-based machine manufacturer MAHA, the focus is on future-oriented solutions, including an autonomous inspection assistant and a test bench for testing the functions of driver assistance systems under real-world conditions. The company is showcasing these, and other technologies with the potential to change the way workshops and test centres work, at this year’s Automechanika at Stand C06/C07, Hall 8 and Stand K30, outdoor Area F10.

Haldenwang experts have been working intensively for months on various new products with the aim of using innovative technologies to redesign, simplify or completely redefine the way workshops and vehicle inspections work. And this is just the start where future planned projects are concerned.
One of the products making its début at the upcoming Automechanika is MAIA, an innovation that marks the start of a new era in vehicle inspection at MAHA. The abbreviation stands for MAHA Autonomous Inspection Assistant and refers to a robot that combines autonomous technology with advanced diagnostics. What does this look like in practice? The MAIA robot autonomously localises and identifies vehicles and carries out a diverse range of inspection tasks such as wheel alignment, light tests, radar checks and ADAS calibrations.
A key advantage of MAIA is its modular design concept. Featuring a sophisticated camera head, direct drive and a high-precision robotic arm, it can be adapted to different testing requirements. The technology saves both time and costs by automating measurement and inspection processes, and ensures accurate inspection, which directly impacts road safety.
MAIA is easy to integrate into existing digital management systems. This facilitates straightforward data collection, management and analysis. MAHA is setting new standards in vehicle inspection with this product through its pioneering autonomous technology and comprehensive diagnostic capabilities.
The second product on show is the MAHA Adaptive System Tester or MAST, a game-changing innovation for vehicle diagnostics, especially regarding advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated driving functions. Using the latest over-the-air (OTA) technology, MAST enables realistic environmental simulations on a roller test bench without the need for direct access to vehicle control units. This advanced approach significantly speeds up the testing process to under five minutes, setting new standards for efficiency and precision.
MAST’s modular design ensures quick and easy adaptation to a wide range of vehicle types and models, making it a versatile tool for modern vehicle maintenance. The system’s flexibility means fewer specialised diagnostic devices are required, which saves costs. Its quick diagnostic capabilities help to increase efficiency in the workshop, something that benefits operators and end customers. Plus, MAST also features an intuitive, user-friendly controller that can be operated by technicians without extensive training.
MAST’s quality and durability ensure long-term, reliable use in demanding workshop environments. Beyond all this, the tool contributes to sustainability and environmental protection by enabling efficient and accurate diagnostics that reduce unnecessary repairs and associated resource consumption. Other product innovations include a control system that goes far beyond the ordinary and delivers out-standing ergonomics and functionality, as well as a solution for monitoring and cooling lithium batteries when they are no longer connected to vehicles.
