With a total of 12,700 euros, the charitable Family Rauch Foundation supported two young people with physical disabilities: In Weitnau, 17-year-old Lukas Bischof received a custom-built sports wheelchair while in Altusried, the bathroom of eight-year-old Luna-Sophie Rösch was renovated to make it wheelchair-accessible.
Haldenwang, 04th June 2025. The charitable Family Rauch Foundation, established by the late MAHA founder Winfried Rauch, has long been dedicated to helping people who find themselves in distress through no fault of their own. Each year, the foundation allocates around 100,000 euros to local organizations and emergency service groups. Most recently, two young individuals were able to benefit from this support:
The foundation donated 5,000 euros for 17-year-old Lukas Bischof from Weitnau, who trains with great passion in the wheelchair sports group of TSV Sonthofen. Thanks to the donation, a custom-built sports and competition wheelchair could be purchased for him – a specially adapted model that would have been unaffordable without financial assistance. The connection to the foundation was established by Albrecht Hung from the board of Lebenshilfe Oberallgäu.
The Rösch family in Altusried also received support. Their daughter Luna-Sophie is affected by spinal muscular atrophy, a genetic disease in which nerve cells in the spinal cord degenerate, leading to significant muscle loss. After an extensive search, Sabine and Joachim Rösch were able to find a ground-floor apartment suitable for their family. However, they had to cover the high costs of converting the bathroom into a wheelchair-accessible facility themselves. To raise the necessary funds, the family launched a donation campaign. The charitable Family Rauch Foundation contributed 7,700 euros to the renovation costs. The modifications now allow Luna-Sophie to live a significantly more independent daily life.
