05.05.2020 / Press Release
The Sonthofen Volunteer Fire department and the association Koerperbehinderte Allgeu are delighted with the new purchases made possible by the generous support of the non-profit Family Rauch Foundation. The fire department expanded its equipment with a high quality multi-gas detector, while the organisation Koerperbehinderte Allgaeu was able to purchase a standing and balance trainer for its residents. For many years, the foundation has been helping people who have fallen on hard times through no fault of their own, thereby supporting important local projects.
Haldenwang, 13th November 2024. The fire department is an indispensable helper in emergencies such as fires, accidents and other emergencies. In order to improve their operational capability and ensure safety in their operational areas, the regular acquisition of modern equipment is essential. For this reason, Anton Klotz, Chairman of the Foundation Board of the non-profit Family Rauch Foundation and former District Administrator, presented the Sonthofen volunteer fire department with a donation of almost 9,000 euros in September for the purchase of a multi-gas analyser. With the gas detector, trained emergency services can quickly recognise gas leaks and initiate the appropriate containment measures. In the past, the support of the Kempten fire brigade, which already has the appropriate equipment, had to be requested for such operations. This cost valuable time, which is usually not available during operations. The state-of-the-art multi-gas detector is therefore a great help for the Sonthofen fire brigade, enabling them to act more quickly and effectively in dangerous situations. The donation was handed over in the presence of Markus Adler and Anton Klotz as representatives of the charitable Family Rauch Foundation.
Second donation to Koerperbehinderte Allgaeu gGmbH
A second donation of almost 9,700 euros could be realised in October for an investment by the Villa Viva rehabilitation centre in a standing and balance trainer. The device can be used to train balance and equilibrium in a playful way. For patient Rita Ziegler, who suffers from ataxia, the device is an enormous benefit: "It's fun and gives me the feeling of being agile again." Specialised software allows Rita to track her progress visually on the screen and control her exercise in a goal-oriented manner.
The non-profit Family Rauch Foundation has been a reliable partner of Koerperbehinderte Allgaeu gGmbH for many years with repeated donations for projects. With the latest donation, the foundation has reached the impressive sum of almost 100,000 euros. It thus makes a significant contribution to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in the region.
