Representatives of both Rauch foundations experienced MAIA — the autonomous inspection robot — in the new MAHA showroom. Following a live demonstration, they engaged in an in-depth discussion about developments in the automotive market and the opportunities arising from them.
Haldenwang, 19th September 2025. A new showroom, a new product development – and two foundations taking a close look. Representatives of the Rauch Family Foundation and the non-profit Family Rauch Foundation visited one of MAHA’s latest product innovations: the autonomous inspection assistant working title MAIA. The vision behind it comes from MAHA Managing Director Dr Peter Geigle: he set out to create an inspection solution that is both technically leading and emotionally engaging – inspired by “WALL×E” from the Walt Disney film production.
About MAIA
MAIA stands for: MAHA Autonomous Inspection Assistant. The AI- supported inspection robot improves efficiency, transparency, and reproducibility across workshop processes and vehicle inspections. It performs measurements, headlamp tests, radar checks and the calibration of driver assistance systems. MAIA can move autonomously within the workspace and recognise the vehicle under test, including its position. For precise measurements, MAIA features a six-axis robot arm and a precision sensor head that combines 3D and 2D camera technology. This standardises processes, eases the workload, and ensures results are documented in a traceable way.
Why the visit matters
The exchange underlined how MAIA brings MAHA’s course – innovation, efficiency and stability – to life in practice. Against the backdrop of a challenging market environment, MAHA continues to invest purposefully in the company’s future resilience. This is evident in the new SAP system, the strengthening of the ‘Made in Germany’ production site, and in new product solutions.
For the Rauch Family Foundation, sustainable corporate development is a priority. The non-profit Family Rauch Foundation focuses on prevention and more robust processes so that technology protects people. The showroom visit brought these perspectives together and demonstrated how MAHA’s product innovations make quality measurable and reduce potential sources of error.
